Common elements of Football

The various codes of football share some common elements . Players of American football , rugby and rugby league positions in a limited area of the field in the beginning of game adoption. They tend to use throw and run like the main ways to move the ball , and only a kick in certain limited circumstances . Body approach is an important skill , and games usually include brief passages of play from 5 to 90 seconds. Association football , Australian rules football and Gaelic football kicks tend to use to move the ball down the field , with more limited use. Body tackles are less central to the game, and players are free to move around the field ( offside laws are usually less stringent ) .
Common rules between sports including:
· Two teams of usually between 11 and 18 players , some variations that have fewer players (five or more per team) are also popular.
· A clearly defined area in which to play the game.
· Making goals or points , by moving the ball to the opposing team's end of the field and either into a goal or over a line.
· Goals or points resulting from players putting the ball between two posts .
· The goal or line is defended by the opposing team.
· Players are required to move the ball at boot code , load, or hand- passing the ball .
· Players using only their body to move the ball.
In all codes , common skills including passing , tackling evasion tackle , catching and kicking. In most codes , there are rules restricting the movement of players offside , [citation needed] and players scoring a goal must put the ball either under or over a crossbar between the goalposts .
